I have been providing clinical supervision since 2006
I have been working as a therapist myself since January of 2000
I was a member of AAMFT/OAMFT till 2017 when I became a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario
I became an AAMFT/CAMFT Approved Supervisor in 2009
This involved completing 180 hours of direct supervision. This supervision was, in turn, supervised (I was supervised to be a supervisor. I received over 50 hrs of said supervision prior to 2009, and I continue to attend said consultations)
I have provided clinical supervision to approximately 100 individuals thus far in my career
I have provided clinical consultations to clinical leaders and staff at family service and other agencies
I worked as a clinical supervisor in a training program for therapist interns (at KW Counselling Services in Kitchener)
I have supervised many, many Master’s degree students completing practicum placements in various settings
I have taught a number of clinically-oriented courses at university Master’s degree programs (both at University of Guelph and Wilfrid Laurier University) since 2007
I have worked with a large variety of clients (thousands). This means that I have a huge breadth of knowledge and experience from which to draw
I worked as a children’s mental health worker for almost 10 yrs, giving me extensive experience working with those with moderate to severe mental health and behavioural issues
I also learned a lot about the mental health system during said tenure
